Winters in Canada can be harsh. Shoes are one of the essential parts of clothing that protects people during winter times. People experiencing homelessness are particularly vulnerable during such times and suffer the most without proper shoes.
With this campaign our goal was to use the opportunity of keeping unwanted shoes from going to waste and putting them to good use. We collected gently used shoes as well as newly purchased ones. We believe by doing so we show our support to people experiencing homelessness during hard times as well as contribute to the recycling process of unwanted shoes, which also benefits our planet and fights poverty.
The campaign was organized in cooperation with Good Shepherd Ministries and Mentor Bridge Girl Students. 63 pairs of shoes were donated to Good Shepherd Ministries Homeless Shelter on March 4, 2022.
