Thanksgiving Dinner started with a presentation.
People were informed about the history of Thanksgiving and how it is celebrated
today. It was presented as a PowerPoint in English and Turkish. The purpose of
Thanksgiving Dinner was to fundraise for women’s shelter. The items were
collected for fundraising such as, female hygienic pads, wet wipes, long-term
can foods and etc. After the presentation, we had dinner and a Canadian guest
shared her stories related to Thanksgiving Dinner. We continued our conversation
while we have our tea and coffee. Approximately, 50 people attended to the
program.

Purpose
of the Program:

  •  Newcomer families were informed about Thanksgiving Day.
  • We shared the atmosphere and tasted Thanksgiving Dinner with newcomer families together.
  • The Thanksgiving memories of our local guests were listened.
